Toosdae ?'s

Update: I'm still disgustingly happy. *shrug*

1. Would you rather lose all of your hair or all of your teeth?

2. What is the worst kind of storm you've ever experienced in person?

3. Do you have any superstitions or rituals you rely on before going on a big trip?

1. This is probably going to shock you all mainly because of my fear of bald men...but I'd rather go without my hair. I'd rock some fabulous hats and scarves to combat the shine.

2. When I lived in Florida I watched the most fantastically scary lightening and wind storms ever. One in particular was really horrible-and it turned out to be a tornado that leveled the street next door.

3. Yes, I do. When I fly I always had Chapstick in my pocket. This is so that if I crash I won't have to deal with chapped lips. Yes, really.

I am currently losing my hair thanks to post pregnancy hormones, and it SUCKS! I feel like at this rate I will be bald. I would have to say I'd rather lose my teeth because they can be replaced with beautiful bright white dentures and no one would be the wiser.

2. What is the worst kind of storm you've ever experienced in person?

Blizzard of 96, or the big one in 92/93. One of them was so bad we had to have rolling brown outs and when the power's out in January, it gets COLD!

3. Do you have any superstitions or rituals you rely on before going on a big trip?

Nope, not unless you count spending the first hour of the drive stressing over what you forgot to turn off at home, or pack. lol.

Happy Toosdae!

1. Bald or Gummy? Since I am rocking the bald guy horseshoe since I was about 25, I'm going to say bald. I have a decent shaped head. Besides Mags fearing the likes of me, it isn't so bad.

2. Worst storm I faced was on my 14th birthday. I was on a 34 foot sail boat with a friend and his step-father docked in the harbor of a small island near Martha's Vineyard (Cuttyhunk). We went to dinner on the island and when we got back to the boat, the wind picked up and dark clouds rolled in. Thunder, lightening, and wind. Boats were breaking off their mooring and crashing into each other. Some boats caught fire. We had to lay bumpers off the side, and "push" off any boats that came close. Our boat survived unscathed.

3. I don't have any real ritual I go on when I travel. On a plane I say a prayer. The one thing I do though, is constantly check to make sure I have all the necessary things like tickets or passport or my wallet.

1. Hair.

2. A wind storm through the Altamont Pass in northern California. Gusts of 80-90mph nearly shoved me off the road.

3. I don't know if it qualifies as a ritual, but I always pack the exact same way. Shorts, socks, sweats, pants, shirts, shoes (if I need more than the pair I'm wearing), toiletries, electronics.

1. Hair. I'm silly and vain about my teeth. The only compliment I've gotten regularly, my whole life, about my appearance is that I have a nice smile.

2. Never been through a Tornado but living in Kansas I spent a lot of scary nights huddled with my baby in the hallway of a house that had no basement.

3. Not really. Don't fly much. We make a lot of ice before road trips, if that counts. My car has no air conditioning.

Hair. Easier to get a wig than pay for false teeth

2. What is the worst kind of storm you've ever experienced in person? Last year I was driving for work and a tornado warning came on for the exact area I was driving. No where to pull over so I had to keep driving.

3. Do you have any superstitions or rituals you rely on before going on a big trip? No, none that I can think of.

1- I'd much rather lose all my hair. I've had my hair really short and, while not the same as being bald, I know I have a cute enough shaped head and could manage with a scarf or a hat. I wear hats well, which helps. My mom always marvels because I'll put on a hat to be silly and it looks decent or even cute on me, without fail!

2- Nothing too frightening. But driving in some Idaho snowstorms with severe wind gusts and icy roads can be fairly scary. Once, when I was young, my dad was driving us in a blizzard, only going about 25-30 mph on the interstate and a semi-truck flew past us at about 60. The truck blew up so much snow, we couldn't see ANYTHING for a full minute and we all just prayed he was still on the road. He was and we were fine, but were we ever mad at that semi-driver.

3- We almost always say a prayer as a family as we depart our destinations. And there always seems to be a "ritual" of mom (that would be ME) getting all frustrated trying to get the kids situated. :o)
