It was questionable whether or not I'd get these up today, but there's a lull in the day now so I thought I'd try to post them. I'm trying my hardest to get back into the routine of my life-the one I had before I got laid off, before my heart was broken and I lost a friend and before my confidence in my self worth was shaken. I'm getting there, and doing little things like posting when I used to post helps. So, help me get back on my feet again by answering the questions. :)
1. When was the last time you were the recipient of a random act of kindness or the kindness of a stranger.
2. When was the last time you did something nice for someone without them knowing? If you'd like to share what that act was, please do.
3. What is one thing you can do today that will positively impact someone you interact with on a regular basis?
1. A significant amount of people have been very kind to me lately, and for that I am grateful. The last act of kindness that I was a recipient of was on Sunday, when the moving guys did not charge me extra for hoisting my sofa and box spring over the balcony.
2. Sadly I can not think of any time in the last year that I have done something nice without the person knowing. I used to wipe off the snow from co-workers cars at night if I got to the parking lot first, but that was a while ago. I do nice little things for people when I can though and will have to work on getting back into the habit of helping more people.
3. It sounds little, but one of the girls I work with gets very wrapped up in the details of the job. She has trouble getting many things done in a timely manner and it's only because she can't make decisions quickly. I learned this very early on. What I've started doing is taking over some of the paperwork that she did. I also take it upon myself to order lunch for weekly meetings which is something she did before I got here. It might be little, but it seems to help her out and that was my goal.

1. It means a lot to me when people are nice to me on the road and let me merge or when somebody talks to me at the grocery store. I live a pretty isolated life.
2. Whenever there are a lot of carts in the lot at the store I try to take two with me on the way in... It's pretty lame that that's the nicest thing I can think of.
3. I plan on sitting next to Jasmine and explaining each and ever math problem to her. It's painful but she has such a hard time with math lately. They put her in too high a level and I'm a little irritated about it because they promised me they would test her for placement and they didn't.

Lately it seems I get a lot of elevator holds or door holds. Guessing it has to do with the quite obvious baby bump. But its still nice to have happen. Usually its just the opposite. Folks seem to be in too much of a hurry these days to care about anyone but themselves, even if it means checking no one is behind you before you let a door close. Another great act of selfless kindness I am lucky enough to be the recipient of is my upcoming baby shower on Sunday. My sisters-in-law have whipped up a doozy and I am soooo grateful.

Its hard to do without them knowing. I did a few things this summer but the recipients kind of had to know. It's just how it works. But I am still glad I was able to do it.

The same thing I do everyday. Tell my Husband how much I love him, how grateful I am for his love and the same for all my family when I can.
Mine are probably all going to be wow-related because that's all I can think of right now. Sorry! :)
1. Any time I get cuddles from the hubby. He doesn't like to cuddle, and I love it, so it's definitely an act of kindness on his part to put up with it for me :)
2. I spend time helping out my guildmates when they are leveling professions. Like recently a guildmate was trying to increase his blacksmithing skill, and I went out and mined up a bunch of the metal he needed to do it. I had the time, and it saved him a bunch of in-game money. He knew who did it, though, because my character's name was on the in-game mail. Hm.. maybe next time I will send them from a character nobody knows!
3. I could help clean the house a bit when I get home, especially pick up some of the kids' toys.
1. Every time someone says they pray for me.
2. I sent someone something in the mail. After they got it, they knew it was from me, but they had no clue they were getting it.
3. I tell them I love them...and mean it. Love you!
1. I think it was a couple of weeks ago. I was carrying a couple of boxes and my computer bag slipped down my shoulder onto my forearm. Someone was walking behind me and he grabbed the boxes before I dropped them.
2. Last night.
3. When I finish all my daily transactions, it makes my co-worker's job easier because the lines of inventory are in balance.
1- There's probably been lots of little things since then, but this big-ish one sticks out in my mind: Two Christmases ago my son, Mac, was outside with Dustin and they were shoveling the walks. I think it was Christmas Eve. A kid walked up to one of them... can't remember if it was Dustin or Mac... and handed them a stocking. It was kindof heavy and it had some candy on the top that was visible. They thanked him and set it just inside the door of the house so they could finish shoveling.
Later, I found it sitting by the front door. I asked where it came from and Dustin said he thought it was our neighbor's grandson who had dropped it off, so it was from the Ahlstrom's (the neighbors). I looked and saw the candy in it and didn't think much of it.
Later on, when I was being "Santa" I realized that I didn't have a stocking for Dustin and I had a few things for him. I remembered the stocking that got left full of candy. I went and dumped it out thinking I'd use it for D and when I did a very heavy, jingly thud fell out on the table. It was a ziploc bag full of coins. 'Weird,' I thought.
Upon further investigation, I discovered that they were not coins but gold Sacajawea Dollars. I went and got Dustin and asked him again who brought it over. He told me who he thought it was. We counted the coins and there were $100 in gold dollars. I was flabbergasted!
The next day I asked my neighbors about their grandson and they said that he was at home with his family in Pennsylvania. It was not who we thought it was.
I was amazed at some random and anonymous person's generosity and to this day we don't know who dropped off a stocking full of candy and 100 gold dollars.
(Novel... sorry!)
2- For my mom's birthday I secretly cleaned her house really well. She was gone to lunch with her sister and she came home to a sparkly house. She knew who did it, but it was fun to surprise her.
3- I regularly tell my husband encouraging and adoring words. He does the same for me and I know how much it means to me. I try to do the same thing with my children. And, anytime I think something nice about someone, I try to say it out loud. People can live a long time on some unexpected and encouraging words.
What a lovely trio of questions today, Mags! Fun to get all warm and fuzzy and have a reminder to be more conscious about kindness!
Thanks! Get your routine groove on! :)
