Toosdae ?'s

Over the last week or so I've been sort of re-evaluating what's important to me and where I want to go in this life and part of that is making sure I continue to meet new people here in Boston. It's been almost a year since moving here and though I've gone out on a few outings with strangers, I can only really claim to have made one real friend. That's not a small feat for me, but I recognize that I settled into my life here and slowed down on the social events. I am not usually a shy person but when I get into my own world too much, I start shying away from outsiders (not intentionally) and end up sitting home alone more than I want to. That's going to change...

1. When you go out to a party are you more likely to be the designated driver or to need one?

2. Providing you are NOT the designated driver, how likely are you to drink until you at least get a buzz? How about to get drunk?

3. How likely are you to get carded?

1. Believe it or not, I'd say I'd be more likely to need one. I don't go out to bars very often, but when I do, I want to have fun and therefore don't want to be the one drinking water in the corner. Boston is great b/c I can take the T home. :)

2. It's pretty likely that I'd get a buzz, but I wouldn't do it on purpose. I typically drink wine and after 2 glasses I am warm and after 3 or 4 I'm happy. Anything after that and I'm pretty much drunk. I don't drink to get drunk really ever. If it happens, it's by accident.

3. I'd say about 1/2 of the time. It depends on who I'm with, I think. If I'm with my sisters or people who are younger than I am, I don't get carded, but with people my age, I usually do. It's pretty weird.

1. When you go out to a party are you more likely to be the designated driver or to need one? When I go out I like to have a drink or two so I'd be the one needing a driver.

2. Providing you are NOT the designated driver, how likely are you to drink until you at least get a buzz? How about to get drunk? I'll drink to get a buzz.

3. How likely are you to get carded? Pretty likely since I look young.

1. I'm more likely to have one, but not to need one. Steve likes to drive; it's very rare that he asks me to take the keys... which is good for me! :)

2. I'm not likely to drink until I'm drunk or buzzed... on purpose. I've become sort of a lightweight, so sometimes all it takes is one strong drink.

3. I'd have to say about half the time as well. Depends on who I'm with and how old the server is.

1. I'd say that these days I'm the one who would need one. The times I go to the bar lately are few and far between, so I want to make the most of them when I do go!

2. It depends on where we are. When hubby and I go out for dinner alone, I'll maybe get a little buzzed, but not flat-out drunk. When we go to the bar, odds are good that I'll be walking funny when we leave :) See #1 :)

3. It still happens pretty regularly, oddly enough. XD

1. I'm the DD about 99% of time. But we don't go out that much. Maybe twice a month...
2. I used to be a party girl though. So I can answer this one. I have to get some shots in order to get buzzed ;o)
3. It's about 50/50 with me as well.

1.) Need one we usually cab though so we don't have to have one.

2.) Always

3.)Here they almost always card you to get into bars since reguardless of your age they have to check your id for the "Do Not Serve" verbage on the back in the case of people who have dui's

1. always the DD and babysitter :-(

2. I used to drink. Now it's just an occasional one. It messes too much with my body temp (hot flashes) and sleep (gives me insomnia)

3. Still do. But then it's state law. I'm 46...

I am odd man out so far today...

1- I have been the DD at many a party because I don't drink.

2- Not likely at all since I don't drink at all.

3- I've been carded several times, but I don't frequent places that card very often. The funniest was when I was 18 and wasn't legal I played "tour guide" for a friend and her friend whom we knew would want to go to a pub. My sister was legal and so I called her and asked if I could borrow her license. (and she does drink so she thought this was really funny that I, her non-partier sister, asked for her ID) Anyway, they carded me, I showed the sisters EXPIRED license (she gave me her old one) and I was good. I haven't thought of that story in a long time.

1. I generally don't drink if Andy's with me because I know it would bother him. He says he wouldn't mind but my whole family is made up of heavy drinkers and I know he doesn't like to be the only sober person in the room. I hate to drive and I'm not very good at it so nobody ever makes me the designated driver.

2. The only time I drink is when I go out with my mom. She's a terrible influence... I do tend to get very drunk. It's a shame because I'd like to be able to just have a glass of wine sometimes... things just never happen that way.

3. I am never carded anymore. This makes me sad. I must look my age.

1) I am not the DD....nope not me

2) Depends upon the evening/party...I tend to get a buzz more at home than out in public, but have certainly been known to tie one on

3) LOL...never ever ...well, there are some places they are required to card you...even buying beer in the store, they have to put your DOB in toring up the sale.

1. I am the designated driver.
2. Since I don't drink alcohol, no buzz for me - just the buzz of being with friends.
3. Remember how I did NOT get carded in the store in New England? I even asked the cashier if she was going to ask for my ID, and she just laughed... bitch.

1. When you go out to a party are you more likely to be the designated driver or to need one? DD all the way. I rarely drink, and when I do its in moderation.

2. Providing you are NOT the designated driver, how likely are you to drink until you at least get a buzz? How about to get drunk? I am proud to admit to never being drunk in my life. Buzzed, yes.

3. How likely are you to get carded? Sniff, sniff. Not anymore. Sniff, sniff.

1. I say I'd need one... Well, not that I can even remember the last time I was out drinking to the point of being drunk. But like you, I'd rather feel free to drink as much as I like, and not worry about having to count drinks vs hours.

2. To get drunk - not anymore. To get a buzz, usually that's where I like to stop when I'm out.

3. All the time! Seriously, at age 27 I get carded waaayyyyy more than I ever did at age 18 or 19 :)

WHOOOhhhhHHhooooOOoo happy Toosdae!!!! :)

1. In the past I have always been careful so that if I needed to I could be the driver...however since the guy I am seeing doesn't drink...I frequently have a totally sober person with me.

2. I get sleepy before I get drunk these days. I usually have a drink or two...but rarely more than that before I start getting sleepy...

3. Only if it is from a blind person.

1. I'm not much of a drinker so I'd be the DD for sure.

2. One drink - maybe two - is my limit and trust me, I can make them last all night without even trying!

3. Ah, don't I wish!

1. I'm usually the DD.

2. I have a hard time getting drunk b/c I usually dance my arse off and it's hard to get drunk when you're dancing non-stop and sweating it all out.

3. I used to get carded all of the time, but not so much after child #2. He's put some age on me. *LOL*

Fun questions this week. :)

1. I'm the designated driver. My drinking days really are in the past. I'll have a cocktail, but that's it.

2. I'm not likely to get buzzed, and certainly I won't get drunk.

3. It's been awhile since I was carded.
