Wikipedia Jicima for a good explination...Wasabi Mashed potatoes are mashed potatoes with Wasabi in them.

Yippee... I voted! Yippee. Thanks for reminding me. The mind is a terrible thing to lose. Have a great day. :)

I actually love Jicima.

But you know I am very against veal and the veal industry, so strip steaks were my choice for meat.
Yes, I love beef and think that the beef industry can survive quite well without the cruelty of veal.

No vegetarian protein choice this week? I was all set to vote for portobello mushrooms this week.
Probably, because they sound good right now.
Here's how I like to do portobellos: marinate them in Italian dressing, then cook them on the George Foreman grille, top with a slice of pepper jack cheese when they're right out of the grille, and serve with cottage cheese and fresh sliced tomatoes.
Damn, I'm really hungry now!

I was hoping for whole chicken, but it looks like it's losing to steak. No worries-so far with what's winning I can make something gooooood.

Ideas are running thru my head!

Yay Comedy! I'm glad you were able to make it in time!

Mo: I'm not a big fan of the portabella to be honest. I love mushrooms, but not that one for some reason. Maybe cause it's so big? Who knew that in mushrooms size really does matter?

Ha, Mags, I like them because they're a great veggie sub for burgers. You know I LOVE my beef, but every once in a while a mushroom burger (grilled on the george foreman) is good.

Oh, and Mags, you have been given a special award at

I'm a vegetarian, but I voted for the strip steak, because in Japan, they do some amazing dishes with it. I'll refrain from ranting about the horror of Veal, at least I'm happy to see it isn't winning.

Wouldn't squash be a starch? I wouldn't have picked it, if I had noticed Wasabi mashed potatos were coming up. So, I'd like to replace my squach choice with green beans cause that could go really nice with teh steak slices and mashers.

Geez, woman, you have made me hungry again just by listing all those great ingredients! Can't wait to see what you cook up this time and I sure hope it has strip steak and squash!

I voted too, and for the jicama in the mix because I want to see what you do with it (but it doesn't look like that one will win) :) Hope you are feeling better!

I voted...I missed last week...damn, I feel cheated now. (smile) I've been sick and haven't been on line hardly at all so I haven't caught up with anyone. I'll have lots to read when I'm up and about again.

I chose chicken, pasta, squash and oranges...I'll be waiting to see what wins and of course for one more of your culinary delights.

I hope you are getting better also.

I picked:
Whole Chicken
Squash
I don't know what orzo is, but I picked the pasta
Oranges - b/c fruit rocks!

Hehe, that was fun! :-)

Mags said...

Proxima: Nope, squash is for sure in the veg category, even though it is technically a fruit. But we eat it as a veg. I think I'm going to do a whole poll for you soon. No meat at all.

Thanks for voting everyone! Polls close in 2 minutes, so I am going to assume the winners are as they appear...
