Happy May Day everyone! Grab some friends and talk a walk around the May pole....or-answer these questions instead! Have a great day!
1. What was your favorite thing to play at recess in elementary school?
2. Were you bullied or a bully on the playground?
3. Did you ever eat anything such as paste just to see what it tasted like? If yes, did you like it?
4. Have you ever stuck your tongue to a cold pole to see if it would stick? Did it?
1. When I was really young my favorite thing was the swings. As I got older I like to play kickball and four square but the swings were always my favorite. I liked the wind in my face.
2. I was bullied until 6th grade by 3 girls-Nicole, Reagan and Daisy. Luckily they all went to a Private Catholic school after that and I didn't see them much after that.
3. I ate paste once in pre-school. I actually remember the day-where I was sitting, even what I was wearing. And I remember that my Nana came to get me that day just as I was putting it in my mouth. She said, "Oh, Mags-that's not for eating." I said, "It's good!" but I really didn't think it was. I tried my hardest to keep a smile on my face, but when I turned around I scraped my tongue with a piece of paper.
4. I have and it did not stick, luckily. And also, I was not a kid when I did it!

Hey Mags
1) I liked the swings as well
2) I never was bullied nor did I bully. Even when I was young I was against bullying and would defend the person getting bullied. Luckily I was quite witty at a young age and could always outwit a bully if I needed to
3) Never ate paste or anything like that
4) Never had the urge to stick my tongue to a pole either
Good Morning Mags...Feeling rested?
1.) My favorite game was kiss the girls or cop a feel, but like you I also enjoyed a mighty rousing game of four square, kickball or on a snowy day king of the mountain. (Wasn't till I got older that I started to enjoy the swing..lol)
2.) Bullied early on but I was six feet tall by the time that I hit seventh grade so I put an end to it..lol
3.) My obsession wasn't tasting things it was smelling them. Almost every object I touch I smell first.
4.) I did it as an experiement in the comfort of my own back yard. Has a bucket of hot water inside the door and used the handle of a hand held free weight that I let sit outside over night...but the handle had some coating on it and it did not work properly like in the movies.
#4! ha ha ha... how old mags?? idiot.
smiles and belly laughs, bee
Paige: See, I would have thought you were an adventurous little girl who would have tasted everything-but I'm happy you stuck up for kids who were bullied.
Brian: Rested? Mmmm, no. But better than yesterday-thanks for asking! Damn teflon coated railings!
Bee: It was last week-so what of it? ;)
4 questions too much. No energy.
1. Any sport we could play.
2. Neither. Quiet kid playing sports.
3. I loved paper. Still do.
4. Nope.
1. Loved the swings
2. I got bullied. I still haven't forgiven them. Maybe I need to pray about that...
3. Tasted paste and actually wasn't bad!
4. Tried it. It didn't stick, but it burned my taste buds.
*Running in out of breath* My favorite day here!
1. I loved the swings, too. But the ones with the straight solid seat. Not the ones that smooshed your legs together.
2. Neither. I was shy and kept to myself.
3. Did I ever eat paste? LOL! I used to paint my palm with it, then peel it up after it dried before I ate it! I might have tasted finger paint, too..
4. NO! When I was young, my dad warned me about touching a metal hand rail if my hands were wet. I guess I figured that would apply to other things as well.
1. I too liked and still like the swings, however I was into gymnastics so I could usually be found on the monkey bars or parallel bar hanging upside down. As I got older, I enjoyed kickball and capture the flag.
2. I was never bullied nor did I bully anyone.
3. I do not recall ever tasting anything, but I do remember always sniffing the rubber cement.
4. I must be pretty boring cause I've never tried to see if my tongue would stick to an icy pole.
1. Kickball (Dodgeball and 4-square weren't bad, either).
2. I was bullied a tick, but not too bad.
3. Never tried anything out of the ordinary (not like that, you dirty devils).
4. No, I'm left handed. I have common sense.
1. I'm a kickball girl, though I also enjoyed jump rope. I was one of those cool kids (using the term loosely) who knew all the rhymes. :)
2. I was bullied in middle school. Really for a lame reason. This girl Aimee didn't like where I bought my earrings (We were poor, I got them at the flea market. But they were cute, so I didn't care) so she decided that pushing me around was a good idea. She got suspended. :)
3. I don't remember eating anything, I guess it never appealed to me. I did accidently swallow a penny once. And I chewed on pencaps/pencils until I was about 13. Other than that... nopers.
4. No, I can't say I've done that. I saw "A Christmas Story" and decided I'd avoid that at all costs. No triple-dog dare could have made me do it either. :)
Happy Toosdae!
1. I am a tetherball girl...lol.
2. I wasn't bullied and didn't bully others. In fact, I guess I was lucky because in all the schools I went to, I don't think I saw much bullying. I saw a couple of instances in high school, but I won't get into that on here.
3. I ate paste once in preschool, too.
4. With a popsicle.
1.I played 4 square and liked the rings & bars. I always had a callous on my palms.
2. A little bit of both I think.
3. I dont think so
4.No, and why the hell would you do that Mags? LOL
I'm pretty sure we should all have a big game of kickball.
I don't have a big enough yard, but my parents do and they have a pool.
So-what do you say? Party with me?
I'm down. :)
I loved the monkey bars in the lower grades, but enjoyed a good mean game of kickball in the older grades.
I was never bullied nor did I bully.. but I knew people who were.
I did try Play Doh one time and tasted Elmer's Glue... but that's it for me.
Nope, I have NEVER stuck my tongue to a cold pole... I believe I knew better. I think... LOL
1. Tetherball or Four-Square were my favorites.
2. I was neither bullied nor did any bullying but there were some pretty wenchy girls in my 7th & 8th grade class that picked on me constantly though they didn't exactly bully me. They just made my life a living hell by writing me nasty notes and saying nasty things about me.
3. I did try eating white paste once just out of curiosity. It had a rather strange taste to it that I can still remember if I close my eyes and think about it.
4. Never stuck my tongue to a cold pole but I did get it stuck to the side of a really cold popsicle once, does that count?
1. In the younger days there was some catch and kiss played between the boys and girls (I was not a favourite). When I changed schools there was handball (not sure if you have this one), always good...
2. But in the new school there was also a boy who teased me a lot. When I was very young there were also these girls that befriended me for a while, gave me little presents, and then rejected me... it was weird and in a way bullying.
3. Not that I remember.
4. Nope.
1. no recess over here, it was break and we didn't have things to play on :( so favourite game would of been manhunt 123 or British bulldog.
2.Not bullied on playground, i was ignored a lot though.
3. Not sure what you mean by paste?
4. Nope was never that cold and i am not sure if there were any cold poles around.
1. My hands were always puffy from tetherball
2. Neither but I was a rescuer of people who were bullied
3. Oh yeah...I chowed down on paste - the old 1950's kind
4. Nope. It was never cold enough!
Chose your blog at random from Amy's Random Thoughts blogroll. Am visiting as part of her current Scavenger Hunt contest.
About question #4 my hometown has winters with -40 below so every year as winter approached we were read the riot act that included "don't stick your tongue onto metal poles" and "don't eat yellow snow" among many other rules for kids to obey.
Hope your May is wonderful.
Hiya Mags!
1. 4 Square was my favorite way to spend recess. We liked to play with the medium sized red rubber ball.
2. At the risk of bragging, I usually backed the bullies off.
3. I never ate paste, but I did spread Elmer's Glue on my fingers and peel it off.
4. Never did that.
WHAT IS PASTE?
Thanks everyone for playing-I'm sorry I didn't respond to everyone individually like I usually do-I actually had WORK to do yesterday!!!
Claire, sorry-Paste is a soft solid but spreadable glue-kind of the consistancy of cool butter. It's used in elementary schools across America because it's washable and non-toxic. And also, it apparently tastes good. ;)
Thanks for that, was driving me barmy not knowing.
Shame on ya for working and not answering me at once!
Good maftering! I know it's a bit late, but I've had a lot on my mind...
[1] I liked playing "It on the lines". We had a gazillion different courts painted on top of each other on the playground concrete, and the idea was, you could only run along the lines to catch each other, but you could jump from one to another providing you were sufficiently agile. It was great fun!
[2] I was neither bullied or a bully. I was just me.
[3] I once tasted the stuff they put in those freezer blocks that you take on picnics to keep the drinks cool. I assumed it'd taste nice and cool, and probably keep me cool. But it was yucky. Don't drink it.
Owl.
