What does this mean?

"When I grow up, I want to be a water bed."

Please advise...all comments will be appreciated. Especially the creative ones that make me smile.

Soft and warm on the inside, a bit tougher and puncture resistant on the outside.

When I grow up, I think I could live with being a water bed.

Course, that would entail growing up, which I don't plan doing any time soon. :)

Relaxing and just generally slooshing around all day. Sounds like an excellent way to spend your retirement to me. :)

Oh, and Hamel-what kind of neighborhood do you live in that you have to worry about being punctured? ;)

Owl: Slooshing around all day does sound nice right about now...thanks for taking a stab.

But I really would like to know why someone would say that. Isn't that a weird thing to say? I thought maybe I was missing something, but I guess they are just weird.

Maybe it means 'conforming to the environment around you', like a water bed moves around to accomodate whoever lies on it. It is resiliant!
Possibly too it might mean not being too firm and rigid, living life in a box, as it were, but rather being fluid--ble to adapt easily which goes back to my first interpreatation! Well, never heard that one before! LOL.

So, what would it mean if someone said, "When i grow up I want to be high heels!" You could have some fun with this, and make up things to say to people....but maybe insert, "When I get old".....
